Monroe Mann's Awesome Pre-Summer Update

Monroe Mann's Awesome Pre-Summer Update

To The RoMann Legion,

Are you ready for the latest on the rise of the RoMann Empire?  Prepare to be inspired. :)  I've got some awesome updates on my band, my movies, my new talk show!, my books, my businesses, and all this crazy education I've been getting.  Remember, I'm not bragging; I'm just sharing the vibe!  I hope you'll go out there and kick it yourself with similarly awesome things in your own life!

A) First, if you're free this Saturday, and in Westchester, my band, Running for Famous, is playing this Saturday at Panera Bread Company's outdoor cafe at Port Chester's Waterfront, from 12PM - 2PM.  It's an acoustic rendition of the band, with me on classical guitar/lead vocals, and Amy Stein on Flute/harmony vocals.  We're playing a fun medley of spanish, latin, and classical instrumentals, as well as both original and cover pop songs.  Come down to Port Chester's Waterfront and eat a yummy sandwich and soup while you relax to our groovy tunes.  If all goes well, this will be a regular gig every Saturday.  Yippee!  (And yes, we're playing Crosstown Bus, Hollywood Girls, and Look Around)!!!

B) Second, I'm super stoked to report that I just received my Masters of Entrepreneurship from Western Carolina University (and am now one of only 135 people in the world to have this prestigious degree.)  Woohoo!  Not only that... but my professors just opened a new fully accredited college, and they agreed to partner up with me on  a subsidiary school called the Mann School of Entertainment, where in about five years, you'll be able to get a BA in Entertainment Entrepreneurship, and a Masters in Entertainment Entrepreneuship.  Guess who is going to be the Dean? :)  Ha!

C) I am also SO pleased (relieved is the more appropriate term) that I have just finished my first year of law school, and well, I know quite a bit more now about contracts, personal injury, criminal law, and civil procedure.  In fact, if you're looking for a good entertainment law firm, look no further than Mann & Mann, LLP.  When you combine my dad's over 50 years experience as an attorney, my mom's 15 years experience as an attorney and opera singer, and my Masters of Entrepreneuship and first year of law school (not to mention my eclectic background in entertainment), you won't find a better bunch of people to help you with your showbiz, music, and publishing legal matters.  Call me if you want more info; my number is down below.

D) As some of you know, Loco Dawn Films has been very busy this summer.  On one hand, we're signing and negotiating a bunch of contracts about this big film with a bunch of A-list stars.  We're involved as Executive Producers because Loco Dawn Films put the budget together, and then introduced the project to the investors, and we're now trying to broker the deal between all parties as I write this email.  The negotiations are a big ol' pain in the butt that's been dragging on for months, but we're close to making it happen, and if it does, there will be smiles all around.  On another hand, Loco Dawn Films has been busy shooting a talk-show!  In the show, I interview stars and celebrities about their lives and struggles... "Before the Big Break".  We just completed our third interview with none other than Gary Goldstein, one of the coolest guys in Hollywood.  You might have heard of some of the movies he's produced: Pretty Woman, Under Siege, The Mothman Prophecies, Cannes Man...  Other interviews include the great Joe Franklin (who had the longest-running talk-show in American history) and Sammy Petrillo (who starred in the 1953 hit cult film, 'Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla'--a film that Christopher Guest says is the only one he would want to take with him onto a desert island.)  So we're stoked and busy and making things happen, and meeting a ton of really cool people, and summer hasn't even kicked off!  You are gonna LOVE these interviews.

E) My company, Unstoppable Artists, continues to expand.  We've now moved into new and bigger offices at 316 Westchester Avenue, in Port Chester.  I welcomed Marissa Higgins onto the team this past January, and am stoked that she's still with me, 'cause she's a Godsend and has helped me and the business in ways I can't even enumerate.  Katrin Luthy, a publicity manager from Sony BMG music in Zurich, Switzerland, will be joining the team in August, to assist with our publicity clients.  And if you check out our new and updated website at www.UnstoppableArtists.com, you can read all the details.  If you or a friend needs career guidance, financial advice, marketing coaching, publicity services, or legal advice (through Mann & Mann), look no further than Unstoppable Artists.  We are the coolest damn company in showbusiness!  And I mean that as impartially as possible, of course.

F) Next, check out my new book at Amazon!  It's called, "Start Your Own Coaching Business" and will be available this summer from Entrepreneur Press.  The Amazon blurb says, "This unique guide teaches experts to turn their knowledge into a lucrative motivational coaching business. Readers will learn the ins and outs of mastering the two separate disciplines of a successful coaching business: the art of motivating clients and science of running a successful business. As a motivational coach himself, Mann brings his lively coaching style to the page, teaching by example. His straightforward advice will help readers find and motivate clients, develop income strategies and grow their new businesses."  So... if you want to do what I do, and help others by motivating clients to run their businesses more efficiently, and reach for the top... check out this book!  Truthfully, I explain how to make ANY business more profitable, so if you're looking for general business help, you might also find this book helpful and useful.  What's wild is that this is the first book I have written where someone other than me wrote the bio.  And gosh, what nice things the publishers have to say: "Monroe Mann is a successful motivational coach and certified guerrilla marketer. He developed his motivational skills as an entrepreneur, military veteran, Hollywood director and producer, and co-author of Guerrilla Networking with guru Jay Conrad Levinson."  Wow, when I read that, I thought: whoah, I've done a heck of a lot!

Okay, back to the law books.  My last final exam is tomorrow (friday night), and then a two week break before I start summer clases: Evidence and Surrogate Practice.  Yee haw!  If I stay on schedule, I'll be done with this joint JD/MBA program in two years, and take the NY state bar exam in July 2010, and the California bar six months later.  Seriously, am I crazy or what?  What have I got myself into!? haha  But don't worry, in August, rest easy: I'm taking a nice two week vacation up in Maine.  Ahhh...

Before I sign off, I want to thank you all again, from the bottom of my heart (what the heck does that mean anyway?) for reading this, and for supporting me, and for being a fan, especially those who have been there from the beginning, and for those who stuck by my side while I was in Iraq with the Army.  So many people abandoned me when that happened, and I thank those of you who didn't lose faith; those of you who--like me--are big thinkers enough to realize that we as humans are capable of doing far more than we are given credit for.  I can't stand people telling me to 'focus' when the truth of the matter is that by diversifying my pursuits, I AM focused... and on one thing only: SUCCESS.  Why, if you are good at ten different things, must you choose only one?  Screw that!  Do it all baby!  And well, not only am I trying, but I seem to be succeeding as well.  And let me tell you, it has nothing to do with "focusing on just one thing".  Bleck--the thought of giving up some of these things I am doing is anathama and disgusting.  Just because most people are incapable of understanding how you are able to do so many things shouldn't mean that YOU have to limit yourself.  So don't limit yourself based on others' ineptitude and jealousy, ok?  Live out loud; live up to your potential; and GO OUT THERE AND KICK IT!

Oh, before I forget, my friend and producing partner Christian Barnes wanted me to tell all of you to check out his film, "National Lampoon's Cattle Call" which was released worldwide on DVD thru Lions Gate Films yesterday.  It is super funny.  You can click the link below to order your copy, or pop it on your netflix queue.  Christian's next film is Shinobi, going into production this fall with Universal Pictures, written and directed by Max Makowski for a 2009 release.  Christian is, if you've been keeping up to date, one of the producers of my upcoming wakeboarding film, "In the Wake".  Hey Christian: CONGRATULATIONS ON CATTLE CALL!  Now let's get this silly wakeboarding film made already!  CLICK HERE TO READ MORE ABOUT CATTLE CALL:  http://www.lionsgateshop.com/product.asp?Id=11133&TitleParentId=4993

Later dudes!

Business Tip From: (The 48 Laws of Power)

BUSINESS TIP FROM: (The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene)

Robert Greene wrote this amazing book called, "The 48 Laws of Power".  If you haven't read it yet... do so immediately.  I mean IMMEDIATELY.  Of the thousands of magnificently profound strategies in the book, one jumps out at me.

He writes, "Patience will protect you from making moronic blunders.  Like mastering your emotions, patience is a skill--it does not come naturally.  But nothing about power is natural; power is more godlike than anything in the natural world.  And patience is the supreme virtue of the gods, who have nothing but time.  Everything good will happen--the grass will grow again, if you give it time and see several steps into the future.  Impatience, on the other hand, only makes you look weak.  It is a principal impediment to power."

Well said, would you not agree?  You absolutely MUST have a long-term time perspective if you hope to succeed at any major endeavor.  Stop thinking about tomorrow.  As the Bible says, "Tomorrow will take care of itself."  What you need to be thinking about is TEN YEARS from tomorrow!  Don't make your decisions based on the impact they will have tomorrow; make your decisions based on the impact they will have ten years from now.  This strategy will prevent you from making rash decisions.

On that note, I know it's gonna take you a while to read the 48 Laws of Power, but big deal, right?  You're thinking long-term now baby!  On that note, be sure to also read The Theatrical Juggernaut by Monroe Mann!  And call me up!

BATTLE CRY 48 (GEN GEORGE S. PATTON) by Monroe Mann

Battle Cry: "Take calculated risks.  That is quite different from being rash." -- GEN George S. Patton

Fightin' Words: Many on the outside of my inner circle believe that I am a rash individual.  Those on my inner circle know that, far from being rash, I simply take calculated risks.  Risks are an inevitable by-product of extraordinary endeavors and a pre-cursor to extraordinary achievement.  In other words, unless you take risks (i.e. do things that may result in failure and ridicule), you--by definition--cannot realize extraordinary success.  If it weren't risky, where is all the glory when you succeed?  Nonexistant.  Bingo.  So start calculating those risks today, and then start taking them. -- Monroe Mann

Excerpted from Monroe Mann's inspirational book, "Battle Cries for the Underdog" that G. Gordon Liddy says 'is filled with some of the finest insights to be found in history.'  And coming Fall 2008, "Battle Cries for the HOLLYWOOD Underdog" co-written with Monroe's Hollywood friend Lou Bortone!

Turn Your Clocks Forward (and other important recommendations!)

Turn Your Clocks Forward (and other important recommendations!)

Greetings You Unstoppable People You!

I. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS: First off, remember to turn your clocks forward by one hour tonight, Saturday, at 2AM!  Daylight baby!

II. PANDORA.COM: I just found this website today, Pandora.com, and it is AWESOME.  Pandora is even better than iTunes, and it's free!  Seriously, go to pandora.com, pop in the name of your favorite song, and let Pandora take it over from there.  You'll be hooked in less than 10 seconds.

III. FILEMAKER PRO: Do you want the most powerful contact management database program EVER?  FileMakerPro is simply amazing.  As my publicity firm grows, and since I have four different companies I am running, I realized I needed a truly versatile contact management system.  Filemaker Pro is IT.  It's a bit tricky to learn at first, but once you do, you will never go back.  It's spectacular.

IV. ING DIRECT: First, have you started saving up at INGDirect.com yet?  If not, get cracking!  Haven't you heard about 'paying yourself first'?  You need six months of living expenses in an emergency account at all times.  Do you?  Truly, ING Direct is the coolest savings bank in the world because you can open unlimited savings accounts with no minimum balances!  The second reason you should check out ING Direct is because ING just bought www.ShareBuilder.com, and I think sharebuilder is one of the most unique online brokerage houses out there.  Why?  Because you can buy decimal shares of stock!  This means if you only have $25 to invest, and you want to buy a $100 stock... no problem!  Sharebuilder just buys .25 shares of the stock for you!  You should really check it out.  And, YES, you can trade options and sell covered calls too!

V. UNSTOPPABLEARTISTS.COM: Finally, the Unstoppable Artists website has been reorganized and updated with a bunch of new information.  Be sure to take a look, and see how Unstoppable Artists can help you with your life and career: www.UnstoppableArtists.com

Kick off 2008... Monroe Mann style!

Kick off 2008... Monroe Mann style!  Your 2008 Top Ten Resolutions.

(First off, my workshop at AFTRA in NY is rescheduled for February, and my plans for teaching in LA are being rescheduled for March or April.  Stay tuned for more info!)

That being said... HAPPY NEW YEAR!  It's 2008, and time to celebrate.  Because on this date, success is your fate.  So let's not be late---okay, enough rhyming. haha.  Ladies and gentlemen, get your party favors ready to blow: it's time once again for your Monroe Mann infused New Year's Resolutions!  ARE YOU READY?

# 10.  WRITE AND PUBLISH YOUR BOOK ALREADY (or publish a NEW one!)
A published book available at Amazon & Barnes and Noble is without a doubt one of your biggest credibility builders.  It establishes you as an authority.  It makes you an expert.  It makes you COOL!!!!  (And they are a great way to make passive income through royalties.)  Whether it's a non-fiction book, an exciting new novel, or even a children's book, you owe it to yourself to finally do what you have always dreamed about.  I can help you write it, find the best publisher, and sell it across the globe.  Given that my last book, 'Guerrilla Networking' hit the Barnes & Noble bestseller list, it should be clear that I am the authority on writing, publishing, and marketing your awesome new book.  Call me today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

# 9. CREATE & PRODUCE YOUR OWN BIG PROJECT
The biggest success stories in history are about those who took the bull by its horns and made their own big breaks and opportunities.  Don't wait for someone to 'discover' you or make you successful---you've got to do it yourself.  It's time to produce your own films.  Write your own screenplays.  Present your own live musical events and seminars.  Open your own business.  Create your empire!  And the list goes on.  Do you have the ambition to speed up your success quotient?  Then call me today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

# 8. GAIN CONTROL OF YOUR FINANCES ONCE AND FOR ALL
Far too many people think that they are going to 'wait until they are rich' before learning how to properly manager their money.  That is backwards.  You are going to BECOME rich by learning how to manage your money.  Not only am I graduating with my Masters in Entrepreneurship this May, but I'm also halfway through my Certified Financial Planner studies at Boston Institute of Finance.  And it's my many clients who have been reaping the benefits of my knowledge and expertise--they've been buying houses, investing in the stock market, setting up emergency savings account, establishing trust funds, and heck, they even know how to balance their checkbooks.  Call me today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

# 7. PUT TOGETHER A KICKASS MARKETING PLAN
This past year, I managed to put together a strategic marketing plan with the help of over 20 joint venture partners to get my book 'Guerrilla Networking' (co-written with Jay Conrad Levinson) to the # 1 spot on Barnes & Noble's 'business life and careers' best seller list.  As a certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach, I can help you put together a similarly successful marketing strategy for your own business and career endeavors.  Call me today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

# 6. GET RID OF YOUR SHORT-TERM MENTALITY
Planning is the key to career success.  Without it, your situation resembles that of an empty rudderless ship floating on a lake--you can't tell where the ship has been, or where it is going.  Career planning--and I mean long-term ten years in the future career planning--gives direction to your career and business dreams.  It is often said that the reason poor people are poor is because they operate using a 1 - 3 month mentality whereas the millionaires of the world operate using a 7 - 10 year mentality.  Isn't it time you put together a long-term business strategy for your life, career, and business?  Call me today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

# 5. LEARN HOW TO MANAGE TIME LIKE A PRO
Every week, someone asks me for my time management secrets.  It seems everyone is in awe of all that I am able to accomplish.  For example, right now, I am finishing up my last semester of my Masters of Entrepreneurship, am in my 2nd semester of law school, am enrolled at Boston Institute of Finance, am working on a new book called, "How to Start and Run Your Own Motivational Coaching Business," just premiered my new film, "Origami Deathmatch" at the Pioneer Theater in Manhattan, am producing three other feature films, just recorded three new songs with my band in the studio, and this list goes on and on!  Folks, believe it or not, I'm not superman, and yes, I do sleep.  The secret is in how I manage my time, and how well I maximize every minute in each hour.  My techniques are very easy to use.  Call me today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

# 4. GET MORE ORGANIZED AND FOCUSED THAN EVER BEFORE
Side by side with time management is organization and focus.  It doesn't matter how well you manage your time if you are not focused and organized in your approach.  Solid organization is KEY to good time management because the more organized you are, the more quickly you can find things and get things done.  Wouldn't you like to become more organized and focused than ever before?  Call me today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

# 3. INVENT SOMETHING AMAZING
Did you know that Thomas Edison held over 1000 patents?  Isn't that so cool?  Wouldn't it be just as cool if you yourself held some patents?  Even just one?  Okay, I bet a bunch of you are thinking that it costs upwards of $5000 to secure a patent.  If so, you'd be 100% mistaken.  You see, in 1996, congress and Clinton signed a  bill that created something called the Provisional Patent Application.  By filling out the one-page form and then writing up a few pages about your patent, and sending it in to the patent office, you can claim 'patent pending' status for one year.  During that time, you can talk freely to everyone and anyone to get a licensing agreement.  Best part, it only cost... $105.  Yes, only one hundred and five dollars.  As for me, I have a new invention patent pending right now that I am currently proposing to Timex, Hammacher Schlemmer, Brookstone, etc.  Basically, it's a 5-unit alarm clock controlled by antennas that helps the user get up and into the bathroom through use of the snooze alarm: when you press snooze, it sets off the second alarm that is in the hall, and then a third alarm down the hall, and eventually, the fifth alarm that is in the bathroom.  By the time you press the last snooze button, you are already awake and in the bathroom.  Neat, huh?  What about your great ideas?  Call me today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

# 2. MAKE MORE MONEY
This is a no brainer, right!  2008 has just GOT to be the year that you make more money, yes?  And I can help!  It has been proven that most millionaires in America made their fortune through one of three ways: 1) Stock Market, 2) Real Estate, and 3) Their Own Business.  These people took their money from other sources and invested in one or all of these three paths to riches, and voila, after years of hard work, they suddenly woke up as millionaires.  Sure, it's not easy, but it is certainly doable, and all of my clients are on similar paths and it would be a pleasure for me to help you too create long-term financial strategies that will lead you towards the millionaire's circle.  Do you want to get on that same path to riches and financial freedom?  Call me today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

# 1. CALL MONROE MANN TODAY FOR YOUR FREE 20-MINUTE CONSULTATION!
Folks, if these preceding nine new years resolutions haven't convinced you that it's worth your time to become a client of mine, then please just give me the benefit of the doubt and talk to me.  I'm a nice guy!  I won't bite, I promise!  Seriously, just do it already.  Pick up the phone or respond to this email and talk to me today.  You've got nothing to lose.  And doesn't the life you have always dreamed of deserve to become a reality for you in 2008?  Take the plunge and give me a call today at 646-764-1764 or reply to this email to discuss your unique situation for 20 minutes at no charge and let's get your new year off to a great start!  My 5-week one-on-one jumpstart program is only $750, and satisfaction is guaranteed!

So, how did the screening go? (& Christmas greetings)

TO THE ROMANN LEGION
(i.e. loyal fans of the RoMann Empire):

First, I just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas & Happy Hannukah.  I wish you all the very best, and send you my prayers as we move into 2008.  May this be our best year yet.  TRIUMPH & VICTORY BABY!

Second, I've been receiving a bunch of emails from friends and fans asking how the premiere of Origami Deathmatch turned out.  Well... I am pleased to report that it was a grand and resounding success!  Sure, the Pioneer Theater is a gorgeous east village theater that everyone raved about, but the theater wasn't all they raved about!  Our 40-minute film Origami Deathmatch... was a hit!  From friends who were 'blown away' by what they saw to members of the media and the industry who have declared their intention of helping finance the feature film, the consensus was that this premiere is certainly not the end, and rather just the beginning!  We were all absolutely thrilled to hear the audience roaring with laughter throughout the film, and have been completely overwhelmed with encouragement about our prospects at film festivals.  To that end, we are excited to report that we have submitted the film to the Beverly Hills Short Film Festival, the Rincon International Film Festival, and that's just for starters.  Ladies and gentlemen, I do believe that Origami Deathmatch has a future. :)  What a cast!  What a crew!  What a beautifully folded piece of paper!

NOW FOLD, YOU FOLDING SON OF A BITCH, FOLD!

Comedy Legends Team Up With Generation X for New Comedy Film

( New York City) Sammy Petrillo—best known for his resemblance to Jerry Lewis in the 1950s cult classic Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla—has teamed up with up-and-coming film maker and Iraq war veteran Monroe Mann to shoot a brand new ending to the film that has made Petrillo a cult star even to this day.

Petrillo and Mann are negotiating a co-production deal with Rick Sapphire, who is none other than Jerry Lewis' agent, and also with the ever-famous Joe Franklin, the 'king of nostalgia', who is a long-time friend of Petrillo.  Petrillo's current comedy partner Suzie Fiore will also appear in the film, as well as Mann, who is an actor himself.  Additional potential appearances include Mickey Rooney, and other Hollywood stars.

Petrillo, now in his mid-seventies, shot Brooklyn Gorilla when he was just 17, with his long-time comedy partner Duke Mitchell.  Together, the two became known as the world's best Lewis and Martin impersonators, and today, are still recognized as such.

Film critic Leonard Maltin says that "[ Brooklyn Gorilla] is always at the top of my list [of the best of Hollywood's worst].  It's not only got Bela and a gorilla, but it has two guys who were the poor man's Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis… They were a nightclub act that bore an amazing resemblance to Dean and Jerry.  It's a film you watch in utter amazement."

Petrillo will appear in this new ending co-written/co-produced/directed by Monroe Mann, 30, whose comedy film Origami Deathmatch premieres December 21st, 2007 at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater in Manhattan.  Mann is honored to include Sammy Petrillo, Joe Franklin, & Suzie Fiore as members of the attending audience for this world premiere.

The new ending to Brooklyn Gorilla takes place 50 years later.  Instead of it all being a dream, this ending plays with the idea that Sammy and Duke never got off the island, and that 50 years later they are still stuck there, in their seventies!  Even more strange, other stars over the years have also become stranded on the island, and they all have been unsuccessful in getting off—sort of like a Gilligin's Island of Movie Stars.

"Now I can be in a movie and be as old as my material," jokes Petrillo.  "Once I was the youngest has-been in show business; and now I can be one of the oldest!  This idea of a new ending is something Monroe Mann and I are really excited about; it's our brainchild.  A generation gap thing.  I just wish Duke were here to be in it too."

Mann says he's really honored that Sammy has put his trust in him.   Mann jokes, "And it didn't hurt one bit!"

Mann is currently also producing the world's first wakeboarding feature film that he co-wrote called "In the Wake" with producers Christian Barnes (National Lampoon's Cattle Call) and David Salzberg (The Perfect Game with Cheech Marin and Emilie de Ravin), as well as a horror film that he co-wrote shooting in Maine this spring that is based on a true story. Mann is also editing the world's first comedy documentary about the war in Iraq, shot entirely by Mann during his tour of duty in the middle east.

Improv show TODAY, and 'hooah' Monroe Mann update!

DATE: December 16th, 2007
SUBJECT: Improv show TODAY, and 'hooah' Monroe Mann update.

TO THE ROMANN LEGION
(i.e. loyal fans of the RoMann Empire):

Hello!

A) First, if you're in New York City, come TODAY (Sunday) to Upright Citizens Brigade theater to see me and 11 other performers split into two teams to perform what we improvisors affectionately call The Harold - a longform improvised show based on a suggestion BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES.  It's a wild and fun show with a big layer of 'what the heck is happening next?' added to a process that can only be described as building a plane in the air.  If that doesn't sound fun, what does?  It's today, Sunday, 5:30PM, at UCB Theater, 26th St, just west of 8th ave, $5.

B) In other news, I am pleased to report that I:
* am just finishing up my first semester of law school this week--one final exam down, two to go!
* am graduating this May with my Masters in Entrepreneurship
* am finishing up a new book called, "How to Start Your Own Motivational Coaching Business" with Entrepreneur Press
* am 1/4 through my studies at Boston Institute of Finance to become a Certified Financial Planner
* just finished a new horror screenplay with comedian Ronnie Khalil and horror writer Bob Madia which we hope to start shooting in Maine this spring
* Barnes & Noble just made a big order to stock Guerrilla Networking in even MORE stores across the country!  THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
* I have two speaking engagements in January: one on Jan 8th at at the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists speaking about how to 'Make Your Own Break/Be Your Own Manager' and another at Drama Book Shop on Saturday, the 19th, talking about... 'Guerrilla Networking in the Arts and Business'.
* and I'm SOOO pleased and excited to report that my SAG comedy film Origami Deathmatch (that I wrote, produced, directed, and co-starred in along with 32 other actors) is premiering this Friday, December 21st, at the Pioneer Theater in New York City.  I am sending a press release off with more info later tonight/tomorrow with more details.

SUBJECT: We did it!  # 1 Business Book in America!

TO THE ROMANN LEGION
(i.e. loyal fans of the RoMann Empire):

Talk about being THANKFUL!  TO YOU!!

We did it!  Guerrilla Networking is # 1!

We have been the # 1 business book in America for the last 2 days!!

For some reason, the book isn't yet listed as a business book on Barnes & Noble (very weird) but the # 1 business book right now is Gitomer's Cha-Ching, ranked at #55, and well, Guerrilla Networking is at # 49.  So technically, we are # 1!

I LOVE technicalities.

If you haven't bought a copy yet, think of the BRAGGING RIGHTS you can have by saying, "Oh, I just bought the # 1 business book in America... BECAUSE MY FRIEND IS ONE OF THE AUTHORS."

If you HAVE bought a copy (thank you!), you can say, "Oh, THAT book?  I knew about it before it even was # 1, BECAUSE MY FRIEND IS ONE OF THE AUTHORS!  Here, I bought another copy for you, so you can catch up."

If you haven't yet, please visit www.BN.com today and order a copy of my new book Guerrilla Networking today (co-written with Jay Conrad Levinson)!  EVERY SALE COUNTS!  And you're gonna LOVE the book.

Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
-Monroe Mann

Fwd: Kick-Ass Fall Update!

DATE: October 12th, 2007
SUBJECT: Kick-Ass Fall Update!

TO THE ROMANN LEGION
(i.e. loyal fans of the RoMann Empire):

Hello My Loyal Fanbase!

Here's the latest and greatest.  And remember my dear friends, I am not bragging... just 'sharing the vibe' in an effort to bring you up to speed, and perhaps inspire you at the same time! : )

a) My new book, "Guerrilla Networking"--the one you have all been waiting for--the one I co-wrote with the famous Jay Conrad Levinson--is going to be officially released ON NOVEMBER 20th!  Please WAIT before purchasing it.  Jay Levinson, myself, my publisher, and the 20-odd contributors to the book are asking you to make your purchase at www.BN.com on November 20th... in an effort to rocket the book to number one on that day through an abundance of sales.  More instuctions to come.

b) Sold another book!  I am pleased to report that I signed the contract a few weeks ago with Entrepreneur Press for a new book called, "How to Start Your Own Motivational Coaching Business", based on the success I have had (and continue to have) with my own company, Unstoppable Artists.  So, now when people ask how good of a motivational business coach I am, I can say, "Well, I wrote the book on the subject..."

c) Origami Deathmatch Update: yes [Arthur!] the film is just about done!  We are finishing up editing in the next 6 weeks, and plan to have the first official screening of the film in mid December in Manhattan.  [Arthur Brown (www.ArthurSBrown.com) plays the role of Nicky in the film] For those who don't know, this is the first SAG film I directed, with 32 actors, and it was a blast.  It is super funny, and incidentally, I also wrote it, produced it, and co-starred in it.  The film is now up on www.IMDb.com, so you can check out the stellar cast online, and I look forward to inviting you to the premiere this December.  The website is www.OrigamiDeathmatch.com

d) Brooklyn Gorilla: Super cool stuff.  I am now writing, producing, directing, and co-starring in an 'official' brand-new 15-minute spoof ending to the classic film from the 50s called, 'Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla'.  If you haven't seen it, watch it!  It's a movie that Christopher Guest said would be one of the five movies he would bring onto a desert island were he to get stranded.  I want to thank Sammy Petrillo himself (the co-star of the original, and star of this new ending) for helping to make this possible, and also my new friend David Kopple at Gersh Agency in LA for offering to promote and screen the film in Los Angeles once we shoot it at the end of a re-screening of the original film!  FYI, for those who don't know, Sammy Petrillo is the world's most famous Jerry Lewis impersonator, and was friends with Richard Pryor, Rodney Dangerfield, Lucille Ball, Desi Arnez, and the list goes on.  Do a google search for "Sammy Petrillo" and you'll see what a legend this guy is.  NOTE: I may be holding a screenwriting competition for the new ending.  Stay tuned.

 e) An Invitation: I am performing at Upright Citizen's Brigade this Sunday at 1PM (NOT 1:30, as I mentioned to some of you).  It's my level 201 graduation show, and if you're in the area, it's only $5, and you're guaranteed to laugh.  Address is 307 W 26th St, right off of 8th avenue, on the uptown side of the street.  Hope to see you there!  If not, I'll be in another show on Sunday, December 16th, and I hope you can catch that one.

f) My Band: Me being deployed to Iraq caused quite the upset for the band back in 2005, but I'm pleased to report that three songs we recorded back in 2003 are now on iTunes and CDBaby (search for Running for Famous), and two new songs are just about finished!  I am also restructuring the band into a smaller more manageable outfit, and am looking for a flutist, a violinist, a guitarist, a bassist, and a drummer who can play djembe, etc.  If you or anyone else you know is interested, send 'em my way.

g) OTHER NEWS: In other news, my wakeboarding feature film, "In the Wake", drives on.  We've got a bunch of new investors on the horn, and we are still hoping to start principal photography in Orlando next fall.  The first draft of a new horror screenplay about Stephen King is finally finished, thanks to co-writers Ronnie Khalil and Bob Madia.   I have FINALLY finished logging the 76 hours of footage I shot in Iraq, and have begun editing together my comedy documentary about the war.  I did indeed start law school at Pace Law, crashing in on classes Mon- Thurs nights in White Plains, and I am LOVING it.  So awesome.  "Hello to the Pace Law 'Bowling' Team!"  I was also accepted into a PhD program in psychology which I plan to start this June after completing my current Masters of Entrepreneurship program this May.  Finally, I have begun a new book called "Learning How to Juggle - Time Management Skills of the Stars", and am pleased to welcome Lou Bortone (www.LouBortone.com) as my co-author on 'Battle Cries for the HOLLYWOOD Underdog', and Faith Smith, CEO of the hugely successful www.EyesCreamShades.com, as my co-author on 'Battle Cries for the BOOTSTRAPPING Underdog'--both new books in my Battle Cries for the Underdog series (currently available).

All in all, things are going pretty well.  Thanks once again for your enduring support.  It means so much to me.  And if you care to receive inspiration, how-tos, and business tips about book publishing, show business, and music... go to www.UnstoppableArtists.com and sign up to that email list as well.  Less about me, and more about YOU!

On that note, thank YOU again for YOUR support.  YOU are awesome.

Sincerely YOURS,

Big Summer Update: Watch me on TV, new book, and other Monroe Mann excitement.

To the RoMann Legion (i.e. loyal fans of the RoMann Empire):

It's been a wild summer, and it's high time for an update on what's going on in the wild world of Monroe Mann.  You ready? : )
Here's the quick scoop:

  • Times Square Kiss-In
    • Woo hoo!  I've been hired as the MC of the third annual Times Square VJ Day 'Kiss In'.  It's a live, televised KISSING event celebrating the famous kiss on August 14th, 1945 (and the end of World War II).  You can read more about this exciting celebration (and also sign up to be a part of the kissing too! :) at http://www.timessquarenyc.org/about_us/events_vjday.html  ; It's on---you guessed it---August 14th, from 1 - 2:30PM in Times Square, will be televised, and will also be shown on the big Panasonic outdoor tv screen in Times Square.  Come on down if you're available to support the troops, big kisses, and yours truly!
  • Guerrilla Networking
    • My newest book, 'Guerrilla Networking', that I co-wrote with Jay Conrad Levinson is DONE, and at the publisher.  When is it coming out?  September/October.  It's my biggest book writing project yet, and I know you're gonna love it.  What is guerrilla networking?  Instead of trying to meet people, this book teaches you how to become the type of person OTHER people want to meet.  Simple, yet powerful.  Hooah!
  • Seven Samurai
    • I am STILL in the running for this tv show, can you believe it?  The show was just picked up for broadcast by Discovery Channel, and I am now apparently in the top 50%.   They are picking 7 cast members; I am now in the top 14.  I should know in the next month or two if I'm off to Japan this fall!
  • Juggernaut Club – Free Trial Account
    • We already have 19 members (including one from London!) in my exclusive networking group for winners.  Would you like to give it a FREE TEST DRIVE?  I have created a 'free trial account' for you to play around with; to 'test drive' the club to see if it's something you'd like to be a part of.  If you'd like a free test drive, lemme know.
  • Origami Deathmatch
    • My SAG comedy film 'Origami Deathmatch' is ALMOST DONE.  We have locked picture at 43 minutes, and are now adding the music soundtrack, and finalizing the 'green screen' special effects shots.  The official world premiere will be taking place in New York City this fall.  You are all invited. :)  More to come.
  • The Theatrical Juggernaut - Ebook Version (& First Three Chapters FREE)
    • Due to overwhelming demand from overseas, I am creating an ebook version of my bestselling motivational business guidebook for actors, 'The Theatrical Juggernaut'.  It will be available for purchase from UnstoppableArtists.com by mid August.  For those who haven't yet read the book, you will also be able to 'test drive' the first three chapters for free as well.  More to come!
  • Hollywood Combat
    • Yes, the war documentary drives on!  'Hollywood Combat' is the new name for my Iraq War Comedy Documentary that I am currently editing.  With over 80 hours of footage, you can be sure it's going to be unlike any other Iraq War documentary you may have seen to date.  Think Jackass meets M.A.S.H.
  • Law School/MBA/ME
    • I finished my first year of my MBA at Lubin School of Business this year (and am currently taking a 'Money & Capital Markets' class this summer), and on August 18th, I am starting law school again for the second time.  The first time was disrupted by my deployment in Iraq.  Those pesky wars--they ALWAYS get in the way of my dreams. :)  And I am 8 months from receiving my Masters of Entrepreneurship from Western Carolina University.  Swanky!
  • Teaching at Franklin College
    • Cool news: I am in contention for a teaching position at Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland, to teach a course entitled, 'Hollywood & Business--The Economics of Entertainment' next summer.   Now wouldn't that be groovy?  I'll keep you posted.
  • People Pretending To Be Me
    • There are still a bunch of losers pretending to be me, sending out fake emails in my name, and in general, trying to discredit me.  Please disregard these people if they somehow get in contact with you.  And again, any support you can provide me on the IMDb message boards, and via Amazon.com and BN.com book reviews would be greatly appreciated.
  • My New Friend Sammy Petrillo
    • I met this wonderful fellow named Sammy Petrillo the other day.  He is one of the stars of the cult classic film, 'Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla', and is renowned as the best Jerry Lewis impersonator to ever have lived.  Would you believe it: he has taken me under his wing.  He apparently thinks I am a 'young genius' (how nice of him!), and is introducing me to all of his connections in Hollywood.  Guess who is best friend is?  Leonard Nimoy.
  • New Script, "The Quiet"
    • I'm about 4 weeks out from completing a new screenplay called 'The Quiet' with stand-up comic Ronnie Khalil, and horror writer, Bob Madia.  It's a quirky cultish horror film about... Stephen King.  More to come soon. :)
  • My Band, Running for Famous
    • To all the wonderful fans of my seven piece ROMP explosion, I am pleased to report that two new songs are just about recorded and mixed: 'Momentum' and 'Reality in the Making'.  I'll put both on MySpace once they are completed in early fall.
  • To Benning & Back Available Again
    • For those who want to know what it's like going through Army basic training and officer candidate school... read this book.  The entire book is filled with my uncut journal entries from the months before I joined, to the infamous day we now know as September 11th.  You'll enjoy it, for sure.

  • In the Wake Press Release
    • Ahh, yes, my feature film, 'In the Wake'.  Fret not, my adoring fans.  There is a LOT going on behind the scenes, and I'm sending out the official press release in a few days.  Apologies for the delay, but these things take time.  It'll be worth the wait.
